DR. BIANCA MENDONÇA

PT, DPT, PCS, CLC

BOARD-CERTIFIED CLINICAL SPECIALIST IN PEDIATRIC
PHYSICAL THERAPY

Co-Founder of NeuroFit Institute

Hi, I’m Bianca! I’m a dedicated and passionate pediatric physical therapist who cares very deeply for her clients and families. I see potential where others see barriers, and I have learned over the last decade of clinical experience to never underestimate what tiny humans are capable of doing.

I learn daily from the incredible children and families I work with. This is a privilege I don’t take for granted.

It would be an honor to be part of your child’s journey. I hope we get to meet soon!

Dr. Mendonça was on staff as an outpatient physical therapist at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) from 2015 to 2022 and also has extensive experience in acute rehabilitation in pediatrics. She has conducted research in cross-cultural validity of pediatric motor assessments and has published manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. She has presented at various regional and national conferences on the topic of cross-cultural effects on infant motor development and cultural competence.

She served as adjunct faculty at the University of Southern California, with teaching experience in the neuropathology curriculum. She also served as member of the Specialization Academy of Content Experts at the American Physical Therapy Association as an item writer for the pediatric specialist certification examination. After developing an interest in the interplay between lactation and neuromotor development, she obtained a certification as a lactation counselor (CLC) from the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice.

DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY

Hi! I’m Chelsea and I was born and raised in south Orange County, and relocated to San Diego to be closer to extended family after a decade of living and working in Santa Barbara County. In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with my husband and two daughters (ages 2 and 5), reading, being outdoors, and trying new restaurants. I love working with kids, and have learned to never underestimate the strength, determination and capabilities of my patients. I feel so lucky to do what I do, and hope to continue growing and learning as a therapist as I set roots in San Diego with my family. It’s my honor to be part of your child’s care team.

DR. APRIL VOGEL

PT, DPT

DOCTOR OF PHYSICAL THERAPY

I am a San Diego native and love every aspect of living in southern California. Both my parents were born and raised here as well, and therefore I have extended family locally. We are a loud and crazy bunch, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. If I’m not spending time with my family, you can catch me reading or listening to podcasts, crafting, trying new restaurants or breweries, or playing at the park with my son, husband and puppy.

Dr. April Vogel, PT, DPT

Dr. Vogel graduated with honors from The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences’ Physical Therapy program with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy. She received her bachelors degree in Human Development, with minors in Biology and Chemistry, from the University of California San Diego. She has experience in many settings of pediatric therapy which include - but are not limited to - outpatient rehabilitation, school-based therapies, in-home therapies, and neonatal physical therapy. Her personal goal is to provide the highest standard of care using evidence-based practice to provide every child and family with the tools they need to succeed. April has spent the last few years transitioning from the standard outpatient model of weekly therapy to the high frequency block style (intensive model) of therapy. She feels very strongly that intensive therapy is a more efficient and effective form of treatment for children with neurologic conditions and their families!
